Telcoin at the Mobile World Congress

Telcoin at the Mobile World Congress

The Telecom Business Development team, led by Chairman Paul Neuner, travelled to Barcelona last week to attend the Mobile World Congress (MWC). In addition to attending the MWC, the team had some important meetings while in Barcelona – one of which was with Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). Paul and the team were pleased to meet the NCC Chairman, NCC CEO, and a key Nigerian Senator. This meeting highlighted just how much interest the NCC have in using mobile money for remittances, in order to drive financial inclusion. It was also clear that from our meetings that there is an immediate interest in leveraging telecom infrastructure for more secure and compliant crypto demonstration.

Overall, the MWC and attach meetings were all very positive for Telcoin. It was affirmed that Telcoin’s vision is directly aligned with the current work priorities and interests of potential partners that we are collaborating and meeting with – putting digital finance and mobile money at the centre.

We would like to thank the GSMA for having the Telcoin team, and congratulate them on a successful event.

Meet Telcoin at the Blockchain Africa Conference

Telcoin at the Blockchain Africa Conference

Our CEO Claude, Marketing Director Yacine, and Frederic (our new Project Manager – see below!) are currently in Johannesburg. They are attending the Blockchain Africa Conference (BAC); where Claude will be speaking on Friday at 1:30pm. If you are attending, we would be happy to take the opportunity to meet you, and answer any questions in person.

Bridging the regulation gap

On Tuesday, the team in Johannesburg presented a high-profile event at the Department of Telecoms and Postal Services of South Africa. They shared our digital money solution for financial inclusion to a captive audience of Telecom partners and government regulatory officials; and were able to discuss in depth our plans to expand into South Africa and the broader African market.

The presentation was well-received, and the outcomes from subsequent discussions were very promising. This visit solidifies our presence as one of the first and only crypto company willing to engage directly with regulatory authorities. We recognise that this will not only have a positive impact on Telcoin’s progress, but for the crypto market as a whole. We have observed that regulators are keen to better understand Blockchain, Crypto, and its potential. However, despite willingness from the regulatory side there are few opportunities for them to directly connect with blockchain companies, and Telcoin is happy to be taking the lead in bridging this gap.
